New River Fellowship Church

FAQs

FAQs

WHAT ARE YOUR WEEKEND SERVICES LIKE?

Each weekend at New River you’ll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with exciting, contemporary worship music. A printed outline for notes and a large-screen slide presentation help you make the most of the practical and relevant message. Children from birth to 5th grade are discipled in loving, quality and fun-filled worship environments (tailored just for them!) during all of our weekend services.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN I VISIT FOR THE FIRST TIME?

If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you or have you stand up. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for awhile—and that’s fine with us! Come in, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and see if this is the church for you.  We would love to meet you, and our pastors are available in the foyer before and after services to do just that!

WHAT DO I WEAR TO ATTEND YOUR SERVICES?

You’ll find everything from casual clothes to business suits at our Weekend Services. Come in what is comfortable for you, because at New River it’s not about what you look like or what you wear.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

New River is one church meeting in three locations.  Our main campus is conveniently located on I-20 just outside of Weatherford. Our Benbrook campus is also conveniently located just South of I-20 on Winscott Rd. Our Mineral Wells Campus is located at 1202 SE 6th Ave. For more information, visit the Service Times & Directions page.

WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?

At New River your children are a top priority. When you walk in the center doors at New River, to the left you will find our Preschool wing (for children birth–pre-k) which are clean, safe, and staffed with loving workers. To the right, you can drop all of your K-5th graders off for a dynamic children's worship experience, tailored just for them with both large and small group time, worship and interactive activities. Our ministry for 6th-12th graders happens at 6:15 on Wednesday nights.  They will experience their own age-specific worship and teaching time with tons of fun!

HOW CAN I MEET OTHERS AND GET CONNECTED?

There are many ways to get involved. You can begin by attending Membership Class to learn more about the opportunities that we currently offer. Small groups are another great way to connect. In each of these, you can build friendships, learn more about the life of our church, and have the opportunity to grow in your faith.

HOW CAN I BE DISCIPLED AND GROW?

Our mission at New River is to lead people to the next step. From the initial decision to accept Jesus as your Lord to your involvement in life-changing ministry, we will lead you step-by-step from healing to growth and into leadership. For more information about the different steps that New River offers, be sure to visit our Next Steps page.

WHY DO YOU HAVE LIFE GROUPS?

Life groups are an important part of New River; in fact, you haven’t fully experienced the church until you’ve experienced our small groups. Groups allow you to meet other members and develop relationships that will spur your relationship with God. As New River grows, groups allow us to “stay small” and connected. Groups are available for all ages and interests—there’s bound to be one that’s just right for you. Learn more about why we’re big on small groups, or find a group to visit in our directory.
